Seed-Funding Recipient Highlight: Indigenous Innovation (I2) Advocacy Initiative Hosts Event for Innovators with Disabilities
From Oct 11–13, 2021, Indigenous Innovation (I2) Advocacy Initiative – a selected seed-funding recipient from the CIPE Civic Engagement Hub’s Pitch Competition – conducted a three-day in-person training session for innovators with disabilities. The training was attended by 12 People with Disabilities (PWD) to enhance their marketable skills, personal branding, and approaches to policy advocacy with the aim of creating inclusive innovation policies in Ethiopia.
Following the training session, participants commended I2 for their work facilitating the session and their willingness to be an ambassador for the PWD community. The participants voiced their support for advocating for the fair involvement of PWD in Ethiopia’s innovation policy arena. Training participants received certificates of participation from I2 following the training session.
